Polina Pavlova graduated from McGill University with a
joint L.L.B / B.C.L. degree. She joined Barsalou Lawson in 2005 as a student
and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in December 2008.
Prior to studying law at McGill University, Polina
received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and International Business from
Washington University in St. Louis (U.S.A.). Polina also attended Oxford
University where she studied International History and Sorbonne University
where her focus was on foreign languages. Upon receiving her undergraduate
degree, Polina moved to Canada and worked in the Ministry of Northern
Development and Mines of Ontario. While attending McGill University, Polina
assisted in developing the Black Sea Security Program at Harvard University
and spent two summers working at the World Bank in her native Ukraine.
Polina's practice focuses on the area of tax litigation
with emphasis on cross-border transactions, transfer pricing and general
anti-avoidance rule. Polina is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. She
is fluent in English, French, Russian, Ukrainian, and has a conversational
German ability.
